Experienced – I’ve worked on multiple UI/UX projects for a very wide variety of clients. From creating interfaces for advanced jet pilots in the RAF, to controls for hydrogen powered drone pilots, to headteacher report creators. One of the best thing about being a freelance UI/UX designer is getting work with so many amazing people, changing the world in small and big ways.

People person – Although I work alone as a freelancer, when I work with a company, I quickly integrate into the team. I love getting under the bonnet of organisations and engaging with stakeholders to work out what the current issues are with their offering and working collaboratively to solve these. I’m very comfortable working with people and like to have as much fun as possible along the journey – I love what I do!

Researcher – Although starting as a designer, I have studied and gained experience the UX side of product design, and am now a confident facilitator of user research processes including the gold standard of usability testing. I have many tools to hand to analyse research data, including affinity diagraming and customer journey mapping – this has now become just as enjoyable as the design work.

User Research

Qualitative and quantitative research including - usability testing, user interviews, contextual enquiry, surveys, card sorting, heuristic evaluation and more.

Analysis

User research produces plenty of observations and data, but it’s crucial that you can analyse this and produce meaningful insights. I regularly produce affinity diagrams, customer journey maps and customer value curves to help workout what these insights mean for your product / service.

Workshops

I engage teams in collaborative workshops designed to turn 'messy data' into organised observations that create a clear path forward for the project.

Prototyping

I can create super-realistic prototypes for presentation to stakeholders and for immersive user testing sessions.
I design realistic prototype designs that the team and users love as they give a realistic feel for how the finished product will look and perform.

Product Design

I design products with comprehensive library systems, icons, components and more. All of which means hand-over to the development team is seamless.

I speak to stakeholders and carry out primary research to get under the lid of the project.

2. Analysis

By using analysis techniques such as affinity diagrams, we can capture the key areas of improvement required for your product.

3. Interaction Design

I design basic interactions to find innovative ways to solve the challenges we have uncovered.

4. Prototyping

This is where we bring the basic wireframes to life, creating high-fidelity working prototypes.

5. Validation

We validate that our solution works with live users through user testing.

6. Delivery

The Figma files and assets are passed onto the development team, ready for deployment.
